cullompton rugby - south west - devon rugby team in cully
Dawn | Cullompton Rugby Club

Coaches are organised for the trip to Twickenham and will be leaving from a variety of pick-up points! Ticketing arrangements are that they will be purchased at the same time as your coach seat, and given to you as you board the coach!

So come along and enjoy a fun day out supporting our local team win the EDF Energy Senior Vase at the home of rugby in London. Nearly 1,000 spectators watched the semi-final at Stafford Park so lets empty Cullompton on the 9th May and all go to Twickenham for the Final!! We need another carnival atmosphere to ensure a win! All our allocation of 1,200 tickets have been sold so we are expecting great things in terms of noise and flag waving supporting our side.

There will be 3 rugby games on offer during the day:-

11am National U20 Championship Final

1pm EDF Energy Junior Vase Final, Brighton v Liskeard-Looe

3pm EDF Energy Senior Vase Final, Cullompton v Tyldesley

5pm Meet the team at Richmond Rugby Club after the match. Their ground is about 2 miles away from Twickers, following the A361 Chertsey Road, which runs into The Avenue, and then Twickenham Road. Ground on left hand side not far from Richmond Tube and Rail Stations. Be there for our last meeting of this exceptional season!

Our last game of the season at Stafford Park in the Devon Senior Cup Final resulted in a win for Barnstaple. Three changes to our team published in the programme caused by illness resulted in position changes for some of the remainder of the team. Although we held Barnstaple at bay for much of the first half, we suffered a sin-binning shortly before half time, and a score line of 13 - 0. Barnstaple kept up the pressure during the second half, another sin-binning resulting in our again playing with just 14 players, but Barnstaple increased their advantage to 21 - 0. A fair result in the circumstances.
